Job Title: Managed IT Services Technician

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Managed IT Services Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting our clients’ IT environments, including troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing hardware, software, and networks. The ideal candidate is a problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively, and delivers top-notch technical support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide remote and onsite technical support for desktops, laptops, servers, mobile devices, and networking equipment.

  • Monitor and manage client IT systems, ensuring uptime, security, and performance.

  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and security tools.

  • Troubleshoot issues related to hardware, software, connectivity, and cloud services.

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as updates, patches, and backups.

  • Assist with network administration, including firewalls, routers, switches, and VPNs.

  • Document support requests, solutions, and system changes in ticketing systems.

  • Collaborate with team members to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.

  • Educate clients on IT best practices, security awareness, and technology use.

  • Support IT projects such as migrations, deployments, and new implementations.

 

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • 2+ years of IT support or helpdesk experience, preferably in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment.

  • Proficiency with Windows, Windows Server, Linux and macOS operating systems, Microsoft 365, and common business applications.

  • Experience with virtualization technologies (Microsoft Hyper-V, VMWare)

  • Experience with networking technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, switches, routers).

  • Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions.

  • Familiarity with RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management) tools and ticketing systems.

  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.

  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Cisco, etc.) a plus.
